DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll lead accounting operations and contribute to financial excellence. As an Accounting Supervisor, you'll oversee daily financial activities, ensure accurate reporting, and develop a team. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain strong internal controls while supporting process improvements through our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives. REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in accounting, with minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory role
- Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting, Finance, or related field
- English language proficiency required, additional languages beneficial
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of accounting and tax regulations in Mexico & Colombia (preferred), ensuring strict compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated success maintaining strong internal controls and SOX compliance
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SOX requirements, and financial reporting processes
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Experience in shared services or large multinational organizations preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional environment
- Process improvement mindset with ability to identify and implement efficiencies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate effectively with various departments, fostering fluent communication and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Contribute to the reconciliation of accounts and preparation of technical reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the company's financial position.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience developing and mentoring teams
- Manage and execute monthly closings, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Support external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any audit-related inquiries.
- Will be a focal point in North Latam Region in Accounting issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
