Program Manager - AI & Data Science

Job Summary: As an AI Program Manager, you will be leading and managing AI & Data Science projects at JioStar. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vice President, AI & Data Science, and cross-functional teams to execute and deliver high-impact AI solutions across our business. This role will involve program management, stakeholder engagement, and fostering collaboration to ensure the successful execution of AI projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • AI Program Leadership:
    • Manage the end-to-end execution of high-priority AI and data science initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
    • Lead cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to implement AI-driven solutions.
    • Own the project lifecycle, from ideation and scoping to execution, delivery, and post-launch assessment.
    • Stakeholder Management:
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals.
      • Provide regular updates on program progress, including risks, dependencies, and timelines to key stakeholders.
      • Strategic Execution:
        • Work closely with leadership to define AI strategies and roadmaps, ensuring that the team’s efforts align with broader business goals.
        • Drive the execution of multiple concurrent AI projects, balancing resources, timelines, and priorities effectively.
        • Cross-functional Collaboration:
          • Facilitate communication and collaboration between AI teams, business units, and other technical teams.
          • Ensure clear requirements gathering, documentation, and alignment between teams to minimize risks and maximize impact.
          • Risk & Issue Management:
            • Proactively identify potential risks and issues that may affect the project timelines and outcomes.
            • Work with the team to develop mitigation plans and ensure timely resolution of blockers.
            • Process Improvement:
              • Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and delivery efficiency.
              • Implement best practices and frameworks for AI project management across teams.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong project management skills with expertise in Agile methodologies, stakeholder management, and resource planning.
  • Deep understanding of AI, machine learning, and data science concepts with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AI project workflows, tools, and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS, GCP, or Azure).

    • Preferred education and experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in program management, with experience in AI, machine learning, or data science-related fields.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, delivering complex AI projects, and driving strategic execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
