The Digital Planning & Innovation Department serves as the strategic engine for ACRA’s digital transformation. As ACRA’s Product Development Office (PDO) and Innovation Hub, we do more than just build software; we reimagine how businesses interact with the government.

[What you will be working on] 

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer dedicated to challenging the status quo and modernizing Singapore’s business landscape. From reimagining the Bizfile to designing new internal access management system, you will have the opportunity to shape critical digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Design System Leadership: Lead the strategic development, governance, and evolution of the ACRA Design Language System (DLS) in compliance with Government Digital Service Standards. Drive visual and functional consistency across all ACRA digital products, which includes high-volume platforms, and core national corporate registry systems.

  • Research & Strategy: Lead the end-to-end user research and discovery process. Plan and execute comprehensive research initiatives (e.g., citizen/business interviews, usability testing, and co-creation workshops) to validate complex product hypotheses and map strategic user journeys for high-impact, national-level Government-to-Business (G2B) and Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services.

  • Design & Prototyping: Oversee and execute the creation of complex user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma. Translate intricate statutory regulations, data-heavy filing processes, and complex business logic into intuitive interfaces, ensuring strict adherence to government accessibility standards (WCAG) for inclusive digital services.

  • Product Lifecycle & Product Evolution: Partner closely with ACRA’s product team, business owners, software engineers and external vendors throughout the product lifecycle. Co-own the design and development phases, drive continual product enhancements based on user feedback/analytics, and lead post-launch design iterations to optimize the long-term usability and performance of live, mission-critical systems.

  • Design Quality, Governance & Mentorship: Establish UX tracking metrics and lead design review sessions. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior or mid-level product designers, ensuring high-quality design outputs and elevating the internal design capability within ACRA.

  • Standards & Documentation: Champion the creation and maintenance of robust design standards, templates, guidelines, and component documentation. Publish and maintain design asset packages on developer and team portals to streamline cross-team circulation and significantly reduce engineering overhead.

  • Take full responsibility for complex, ambiguous assignments from start to finish

  • Independently manage assigned work and deliver results with minimal supervision

  • Mentor junior team members by sharing knowledge, breaking down complex problems, and providing helpful feedback

  • Spot issues early and address them proactively, knowing when to seek help from others

  • Share experiences and provide recommendations to enhance team performance and learning

Comfortable with People Management for Senior Designer:

  • Support team coordination by communicating simple project goals and priorities to team members and how individual tasks connect to broader objectives

  • Conduct check-ins with junior team members, focusing on immediate work progress and basic feedback delivery

  • Help team members with day-to-day blockers and provide technical mentoring
