Payments at Netflix
Our mission within the Payments Platform team is to build and operate the various services supporting the complete payments journey for our customers. From onboarding their method of payment to processing their membership every month, we obsess over frictionless, secure and high-approval-rate transactions. The reliability and performance of this platform influence billions of dollars in annual revenue and you get to sit at the front row.
Our team sits within the Growth Commerce Platform organization, the commerce backend of Netflix, responsible for collecting 95% of our revenue and serving over 300M customers around the world.
What you will do
Leadership & management: lead a team of talented distributed system engineers, maintain a culture of high-performance, support individual growth through regular feedback, coaching, and career development.
Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with product managers and a distributed team of best-in-class regional leads to deliver high-impact features and improvements.
Technical oversight: craft a technical vision for the future of the payments platform, ensure engineering excellence, balance innovation and stability.
Operational excellence: protect our customers and our business, navigate an constantly evolving ecosystem of payment processors, regulatory requirements and regional innovation.
Culture Leadership: Be a role model of and advocate for the Netflix culture, lead with context over control, high talent density and strong ownership.
Skills and experience we are seeking
Strong technical skills, you have deep experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems with strong opinions on reliability, scalability, and system design.
Excellent communication to engage with stakeholders, leadership and external partners.
Comfortable operating in a complex, ambiguous and fast moving environment.
Product mindset, you are passionate about finding solutions for our business and our customers.
Experience with experimentation and data science.
Equally at ease with tactical decision and long term strategic thinking.
Unusually responsible, you want to have an impact and make Netflix a better place.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $436,000.00 - $791,000.00.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
