Manager, Business Intelligence, Seller Development
The Growth Optimization team is on a mission to become the intelligent AI business advisor for every Selling Partner (SP) on Amazon. We build the data, science, and product systems that help SPs identify growth opportunities, co-develop strategies with AI, and execute those strategies across Amazon's core growth levers — advertising, promotions, pricing, listings, fulfillment, and more. Our work spans Seller Assistant (SA), Next Gen Selling (NGS), and a growing portfolio of AI-powered Growth Advisors (including High Velocity Event Advisor and Marketing Efficiency Advisor) that target billions of dollars in unrealized GMS for SPs in the US and internationally. As our AI development accelerates, Business Intelligence is becoming core infrastructure — not a supporting function. We are shifting from bespoke, one-off data solutions to building reusable data pipelines, shared analytics capabilities, and measurement frameworks that power every agent team we spin up.
We are looking for a Manager, Business Intelligence Engineering to lead and grow our BI and analytics team. You will be a player-coach: personally contributing hands-on to our most technically demanding data engineering work while providing the technical oversight, prioritization, and career development that enables our team to scale. You will lead a team of high-performing Business Intelligence Engineers and Business Analysts supporting a rapidly expanding AI product roadmap. You will own the full scope of our data needs: building and maintaining the pipelines that power our AI agents, creating the measurement frameworks that define how we track SP engagement and business impact, and ensuring our BAU reporting commitments are met without crowding out strategic infrastructure work. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role — you will be a primary technical partner to product and science leadership across Growth Optimization and will be expected to set the standard for how BI is done across our org as we scale.
The ideal candidate is a technically exceptional BI leader who is passionate about using data to unlock growth for the millions of Selling Partners who rely on Amazon for their livelihood. You thrive in dynamic, ambiguous environments where the roadmap is evolving, the problems are genuinely hard, and the stakes are high. You think big about what BI infrastructure can enable — not just for today's needs, but for the AI-powered experiences your organization is building toward — while maintaining a relentless bias for action that keeps the team moving. You earn trust through your craft: writing clean, scalable pipelines; designing measurement frameworks that hold up to scrutiny; and communicating technical complexity clearly to product and science stakeholders who depend on your judgment. You invent and simplify, always asking whether a shared, reusable solution can replace a one-off build. And you work backwards from Selling Partners — understanding that behind every metric is a business owner trying to grow, and that the data systems you build directly shape the guidance they receive.
Key job responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of BIEs and Business Analysts, providing technical guidance, career development, and prioritization
Establish technical standards, code review practices, and documentation norms for the team

Partner with product and science teams to establish causal frameworks connecting seller actions to business outcomes
Ensure reliable delivery of weekly business reviews, performance metrics, and ad hoc analysis in support of goals and quarterly business reviews
Build prioritization frameworks that balance strategic infrastructure work against recurring reporting commitments
Serve as the primary BI technical partner for product, science, and engineering across Growth Optimization
Align stakeholders across product, advertising, promotions, and pricing teams on shared data contracts and analytical standards
