Software Engineer, Network Management Distributed Infrastructure
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
In this role, you will design, build, and deploy software solutions to remove complexity from network management tasks. You will support complex, highly available, planetary-scale distributed systems with billions of users. You will evolve our networks to meet the requirements of, and create opportunities for, new and better Google products—especially the rapidly growing Google Cloud offerings and AI initiatives. You will be building critical distributed systems infrastructure that enables safe and reliable network management automation via always-safe and always-available Application Programming Interface (API) abstractions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development.
- 5 years of experience with system design.
- 3 years of experience with multithreaded programming.
- 3 years of experience with distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with C++.
- 5 years of experience with Go.
- 3 years of experience with authentication.
- 3 years of experience with API design.
- 3 years of experience with critical infrastructure.
