Senior Staff Software Engineer, Local Ads
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Local Ads have been one of the fastest growing Ads products (including Local Services Ads, Map Ads, and Local Top Ads), generating billions of business for overall Search Ads.
In this role, you will focus on issues of user experience and advertiser Return on Investment (ROI) problems while partnering with different sub-teams in the organization. You will help advertisers, who have previously used traditional methods and channels for their advertising needs, to find new business through Google's Local Ads products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$365,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- Experience working with an online advertising platform or other ads products.
- Experience in data analytics with a focus on marketing analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, digital attribution, forecasting, or predictive analytics.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence, as well as large-scale distributed systems.
