The Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) team is responsible for redefining the future of sovereign computing. In this role, you will lead the Kernel and OS strategy for a platform delivering consistent cloud experiences across air-gapped, connected, and hybrid environments. By leveraging confidential computing and GPU infrastructure, you will architect the secure foundations for the next generation of Large Language Models (LLMs). As the Tech Lead, you will design software stacks that protect sensitive data while in use.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience working in a changing organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a changing organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
  • Experience building and maintaining Linux distributions, including package management and kernel updates, and experience in programming with Go or C++.
