Job Description
This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
About the Role
As Director, Change Strategy, you will be an innovative and strategic thought partner. You will work closely with initiative leads, broader Transformation team, and senior leadership to build, enact, and sustain behvaior change.
You will act as the primary architect for the enterprise change management framework, defining the vision for how Kohl’s navigates large-scale change and transformation. You will serve as a high-level internal consultant to the Senior leadership, providing strategic foresight on organizational readiness and human capital risks related to the enterprise transformation roadmap.
What You’ll Do
Serve as an internal change management practitioner, leading the people side of transformation initiatives across the enterprise (technology, digital, AI, and business model transformations) and as the link between HR and the Transformation Management Office
Design, launch, and govern the proprietary enterprise-wide change methodology, including the creation of a 'Change Center of Excellence' that scales capability across all HR and functional Business Partners.
Directly coach senior executives on change leadership, helping them model the behaviors required to drive a high-performance, agile culture
Lead development of change plan and engagement approach for refreshed culture and behaviors
Develop and execute change management strategies and plans, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communication plans, and leadership activation strategies
Build and evolve a common change methodology and toolkit to drive consistency and sustainable adoption across the enterprise
Partner with Strategy and Internal Communications to plan, craft, and deliver compelling communications that inspire understanding and engagement through change
Drive exceutive leadership sponsorship of behaviors necessary for transformation delivery & coach leaders on how to engage teams struggling to adopt new ways of working
Create and deliver learning solutions, tools, and templates to strengthen change management capability across HR and business leaders.
Establish and maintain measurement systems to track change adoption, readiness, and engagement
Act as a strategic thought partner to HR and business leaders to anticipate change impacts and design effective approaches for implementation
Collaborate closely with HRBPs and business sponsors to cultivate change sponsorship and build leadership capability in driving change
Support the prioritization, sequencing, and integration of multiple change efforts to minimize fatigue and enhance alignment across initiatives

What Skills You Have
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, HR, Business, or related field
Prosci or similar Change Management certification
10+ years of change leadership experience specifically in large-scale, matrixed enterprise transformations
Proven success leading enterprise change initiatives and developing change strategies that deliver measurable outcomes
Strong executive presence, facilitation, and consulting skills
Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation in fast-paced, evolving contexts
Preferred
Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSOD, IO Psychology)
Experience working in retail, consumer, or technology-driven environments.
Familiarity with workforce planning, capability development, and AI/automation impacts on work
Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification
