Senior Software Engineer - BrickLink

LEGO · Billund

Job Description

BrickLink is where the world's most passionate LEGO® fans come together - to trade, build, and share. Behind that community is a platform going through one of the most exciting transformations in its history: rebuilding on modern cloud architecture and integrating into the wider LEGO® digital ecosystem.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer  to help shape the core platform that powers it all. If you love backend engineering, care about code that runs reliably at scale, and want your work to reach millions of LEGO® fans worldwide - keep reading.

Please note we do not offer relocation support for this role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work for the team's success by shaping technical solutions and delivering best-in-class experiences
  • Architect, build, operate, and maintain secure, scalable backend services, balancing features, quality, and deadlines under a "you build it, you run it" model
  • Continuously improve the codebase and system health from development to production, enabling faster delivery and frequent, reliable releases
  • Collaborate across BrickLink product teams and the value stream to drive end-to-end outcomes
  • Champion quality, observability, and operational excellence, and safeguard the LEGO values our users expect
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies including AI - to advance the platform and our ways of working
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design to align requirements, roadmaps, and user experiences

Play your part in our team succeeding

In Creator and AFOL Technology, we're helping LEGO BrickLink® integrate into the LEGO Group's digital ecosystem to support an ambitious growth journey. You'll join a team working at the heart of BrickLink — building the core services that power the public-facing platform: Authentication and administration flows, LEGO Account integration, BrickLink's main page and compliance foundations that keep us trusted and accessible

Everything runs on AWS, we release weekly, and the team is genuinely collaborative — both internally and with our colleagues in Irvine, California. What we're looking for is someone to bring an extra layer of senior technical leadership - someone who raises the bar on architecture, quality, and ways of working.

You'll be primarily focused on backend and cloud engineering with .NET, though there's room to go full stack if your interests take you there.

Do you have what it takes?

We think you'll thrive here if you bring:

  • Deep experience in backend development with C# and .NET Core
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including transaction management
  • Cloud-native development with CI/CD and DevOps - ideally on AWS
  • Strong security fundamentals for web-based solutions, including OAuth 2.0
  • Experience with data analytics, observability tooling, and production monitoring
  • Understanding of Domain-Driven Design and loosely coupled systems
  • A collaborative, communicative mindset - you partner across teams and continuously improve agile practices
  • Curiosity about AI – with ideas on how it can be leveraged in engineering work and processes.

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and testing frameworks like Jest
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform)
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (shopping carts, inventory, checkout etc)
  • Experince with Java and Spring Boot (some legacy services still live there)
  • Awareness of accessibility standards and digital compliance (DSA, GDPR)

Sound like you? Come help shape the next generation of BrickLink.
