You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for the design and implementation of the next generation of Motorola’s market-leading high-performance video solutions products.
As an Imaging Co-Op, you will understand camera image quality performance metrics and develop a robust automation platform to support benchmarking of new features, improve workflows, and increase test coverage. In addition, there are opportunities with real world camera image quality verification and developing imaging algorithms.
The successful candidate will work with a team of imaging specialists and collaborate with optical, mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to perform image quality tests and analyses, automating test procedures, and identifying the root cause of camera design defects.
Responsibilities include:
Image quality testing and analysis of new video camera designs
Develop objective and subjective image quality testing of video cameras
Design and implement test automation of existing image quality tests
Apply engineering principles to design imaging algorithms to improve video image quality
Qualifications:
Engineering Physics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Strong image/video photography skills
Experience and proficiency in Python
Experience with version control software (git)
Comfortable with linux command line interface
Detail oriented and well organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
Solid understanding of subjective/objective image quality evaluation
Knowledge of ISP and 3A architecture
Knowledge of CMOS image sensor and lens technology
Knowledge of image/video coding
Experience with C/C++

Target Base Salary Range: 38,000 - 63,000 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
