We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer based out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
What You’ll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a senior systems engineer to join our team to lead the design, integration, and sustainment of a wide variety of advanced technologies, including anechoic chambers, hardware‑in‑the‑loop platforms, and emerging AI‑enabled infrastructure. You will work directly with Government partners and industry vendors to deliver secure, high‑performance test and compute environments that support national‑level endeavors.
- During the first 30 days of employment onboarding activities, including Northrop Grumman training requirements, program overviews, system architecture familiarization, and department-specific training, will establish a solid foundation for the new team member. Introductions to management, team leads, and stakeholders will provide insight into team dynamics and identify key areas where the engineer can add value to the mission.
- Days 30 through 90 will further integrate the engineer into daily activities, with a program manager to guide them. Tasks will be assigned at an appropriate pace to ensure the assimilation of process and system architecture.
- Days 90 and onward will consist of mission-guided projects and opportunities for the engineer to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment. From coordinating with stakeholders to testing cutting-edge feature enhancements to the enterprise architecture, engineers can invest in their future while delivering maximum value to our customers’ mission.
This position requires full-time work onsite at our Fort Gordon, Georgia location. No telework is available.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS/SCI.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, OR Master's Degree with 10 years of experience. NOTE: Four (4) years of additional relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance to be considered. TS/SCI clearance must be in place by the start date and remain in place throughout employment.
- Must possess a current DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date (example: Security+ CE)
- Experience with U.S. Government contracts or defense systems
- Broad technical background across IT, networking, software development, and cybersecurity
- Demonstrable experience leading complex engineering projects in production environments
- Proven ability to represent organizational capabilities to customers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TEMPEST, NSA WSC, or other classified communications‑security programs.
- Familiarity with the construction and acquisition, integration, and operational readiness of anechoic chambers into secure facilities.
- Proven track record in integrating government networks (JWICS, NIPR, SIPR, etc.) into secure facilities.
- Experience with the design, prototyping, installation, and integration of hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Knowledge of liquid‑cooling design for high‑density data centers and power‑distribution engineering.
- Familiarity with GPU compute procurement processes and AI workload planning.
- Prior work with the oversight and provisioning of DREN or similar high‑performance research networks.
- Proficiency in systems integration tools (e.g., DOORS, JAMA, SysML) and configuration management (Git, Atlassian suite).
- Strong project‑management skills (Earned Value Management, Agile/SAFe) and ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with the organizations and senior points of contact within US Cyber Command and US Army Cyber Command at Fort Gordon in Georgia.

Primary Level Salary Range: $168,200.00 - $252,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
