Required Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
(1) year experience as a producer, writer, journalist or editor.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s in Journalism, Broadcast, Mass Communications or comparable media curriculum, or a comparable Associate's Degree with two (2) experience in Journalism or Broadcasting.
Experience in reporting for audio or radio broadcasts;
Experience in a news capacity at an NPR affiliate public radio station.
Produces daily news stories and long-form feature reports as part of the station's newsroom and collaborative efforts;
Create stories that require extensive research, analysis of interview content, investigative and verification work, and individualized interpretation based on audience factors;
Supplemental commentary will be required when participating as an informed on-air source of content;
All Things Considered Host;
Produce digital first stories for social media;
Produce stories for statewide newscast;
Participate in on-air membership drives;
Appear at fundraisers, station events, and community events;
Create news-related promotional and interstitial content as needed or required;
Be available for reports related to significant breaking news; reports may require spot analysis and fact interpretation based on changing and developing factors;
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of journalistic principles, ethics and standards;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Knowledge of NPR editorial process;
Knowledge of audio recording and editing techniques;
Knowledge of Adobe Audition;

Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate;
