Interstates is currently seeking a Custom Panel Technician to join our Manufacturing Team in Sioux Center, IA. The Production Technician II will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and fabrication of industrial control panels and electrical systems. This role requires a strong electrical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to producing high-quality work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and electrical assemblies from layout through completion
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
- Install and terminate electrical components including PLCs, relays, drives, power supplies, and control devices
- Perform quality inspections and electrical testing to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and make corrections as needed
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of electrical assembly, panel building, electrical manufacturing, or related experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
Preferred Skills:
- Electrical experience, education, apprenticeship, or related technical training
- Knowledge of industrial controls, control panels, and low-voltage electrical systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, there is exposure to electrical equipment and potential risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Candidates should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and complying with safety standards and procedures to protect their well-being and the well-being of others.
Location & Travel:
The position is located in Sioux Center, IA. Minimal travel is required.
