Engineering Manager - Core Experience

Spotify · London / Stockholm

We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.

You’ll join the Core Experience Studio within Spotify’s Experience Mission, working in the Format Foundations Product Area. This space builds the foundations behind how users experience artists, albums, podcasts, and more across the app.

Within this area, you’ll lead Meadow — a backend platform team that powers scalable, content-agnostic metadata delivery. Meadow sits at the heart of many Spotify experiences, enabling teams across Music, Podcasts, Audiobooks, and beyond to build consistent, high-quality user experiences.

  • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to align priorities and drive execution

  • Enable adoption of platform capabilities across multiple consumer-facing teams and content verticals

  • Guide architectural decisions, review implementations, and help unblock complex technical challenges

  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve speed, quality, and developer experience

  • Support and grow engineers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment

  • You have worked across end-to-end data systems, from pipelines to distribution layers

  • You have experience leading engineering teams and supporting individuals in their growth

  • You’ve contributed to cross-team technical strategy and aligned stakeholders around shared outcomes

  • You are comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools and guiding teams in their use

  • You think in systems and platforms, balancing the needs of internal developers and end users

  • You care deeply about building inclusive teams where people feel supported and empowered

  • You’re curious, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
