Marketing Cloud Specialist - Salesforce

Penrodsoftware · Remote

Penrod is a dynamic, high-growth global consulting firm specializing in digital transformation and operational excellence across the Health & Life Sciences sector. We partner with leading healthcare systems to drive value through strategic technology implementations, data enablement, and change management. We pride ourselves on delivering measurable results and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist to join our delivery team. You will serve as the technical executor on Marketing Cloud implementation engagements, working alongside Lead Consultants and Architects who own solution design and client relationships while you drive the platform-level build and configuration. In addition to implementation work, this role may independently manage day-to-day support for Managed Services accounts, handling ongoing requests and platform maintenance with minimal oversight.

What we look for

  • Build, test, and deploy email campaigns, journeys, automations, and audience segments within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Configure and maintain Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, and Contact Builder as required by client engagements.
  • Develop and manage dynamic content, personalization rules, data extensions, and AMPscript logic to support client marketing programs.
  • Support list management, subscriber hygiene, and data quality processes to maintain healthy sender reputations and compliant data practices.
  • Implement and troubleshoot Marketing Cloud Connect and Sales/Service Cloud integrations.
  • Ensure all marketing execution adheres to HIPAA and healthcare data compliance requirements relevant to Health & Life Sciences clients.
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve incoming support tickets and enhancement requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct regular account health checks to proactively identify and resolve platform issues before they impact client operations.
  • Document solution decisions, configurations, and known issues to maintain clear account history and enable continuity.
  • Generate and deliver campaign performance reports, engagement analytics, and platform usage summaries to client stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities across email performance, journey analytics, and audience data.
  • Translate reporting insights into actionable recommendations that clients can act on without requiring Architect-level engagement.
  • Partner with Lead Consultants and Project Managers to ensure workstreams run independently and do not create capacity drag on implementation-focused team members.
  • Flag scope expansion, technical risk, or client satisfaction concerns to leadership proactively and with appropriate context.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by documenting reusable processes, templates, and best practices for Marketing Cloud engagements.
  • What we look for

  • 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, with demonstrated ability to independently own campaign execution and platform configuration.
  • Proficiency across core Marketing Cloud studios: Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, and Mobile Studio.
  • Experience with AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL for dynamic content, data extension queries, and automation logic.
  • Working knowledge of Marketing Cloud Connect and Salesforce CRM integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with data extension management, audience segmentation, and subscriber lifecycle best practices.
  • Understanding of email deliverability, CAN-SPAM/CASL compliance, and sender reputation management.
  • Active Salesforce certification required: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Marketing Cloud Administrator at minimum.
  • Experience managing client-facing support engagements, including ticket triage, SLA adherence, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to work independently, self-prioritize across multiple accounts, and operate with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Strong written communication skills; comfortable leading client calls and delivering status updates without senior support.
  • Additional Marketing Cloud certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Developer).
  • Experience supporting clients in the Health & Life Sciences sector, including familiarity with HIPAA data handling requirements.
  • Exposure to Marketing Cloud Intelligence (Datorama) for cross-channel reporting and analytics.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Health Cloud or Service Cloud as it relates to Marketing Cloud integration use cases.
  • Experience with managed services or retainer-based consulting delivery models.
  • Comfort operating in Agile/Scrum environments and using project management tools (e.g., Jira, ClickUp, Salesforce cases).
  • Prior experience at a Salesforce consulting partner or systems integrator.
