About the Team:

The Insights team at JioHotstar is responsible for understanding audience behavior, preferences, and consumption patterns across the platform. The team focuses on generating high-quality, actionable insights through qualitative research and data interpretation, enabling informed decision-making across content, marketing, and product functions.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the function plays a key role in bringing the voice of the consumer into business decisions, ensuring that audience perspectives are consistently reflected in how content is evaluated, positioned, and promoted.

About the Role:

This role will be responsible for leading qualitative audience insights to support decision-making across content, marketing, and product teams at JioHotstar.

In essence, this is an insights-first role focused on decoding audience behavior and translating it into clear, actionable inputs for the business. It has three key dimensions:
(i) an insights leader capable of deeply understanding audience motivations, preferences, and consumption patterns,
(ii) a translator of insights who can convert research findings into practical, business-relevant recommendations,
(iii) a collaborator who works closely with multiple teams to ensure insights are effectively applied across decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audience & Behavioral Insights: Conduct qualitative audience research to identify viewer segments, motivations, and content preferences. Analyze audience behavior across content journeys to uncover drivers of engagement. Support identification of cultural and behavioral trends influencing content consumption
  • Insight Generation & Application: Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for content, marketing, and product teams. Support decision-making by providing relevant audience inputs for content evaluation and promotion. Identify emerging audience needs and gaps through structured analysis
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Content, Marketing, and Product teams to share insights and support execution. Coordinate with data and analytics teams to complement qualitative findings with quantitative inputs. Contribute to discussions by bringing in relevant audience perspectives
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare insight reports, summaries, and presentations for stakeholders. Simplify research findings into clear and concise outputs. Maintain documentation of research and key learnings for future reference
  • Trend Tracking & Market Understanding: Stay updated on audience trends, industry developments, and content consumption patterns. Support the team in tracking shifts in audience preferences and behavior. Contribute to improving research approaches and frameworks over time

    Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

    • 7-9 years of experience in audience research, qualitative insights, or related roles
    • Strong understanding of qualitative research methods and audience behavior analysis
    • Ability to translate research findings into actionable insights
    • Familiarity with working alongside data/analytics teams
    • Good communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
