We currently have an opportunity for a Intermediate Information Developer with a passion for technical writing to join our Integrated Logistics Support team. This role involves:

  • Developing comprehensive and accurate technical content for complex hardware and software systems
  • Reviewing engineering data and interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SME) to gain an understanding of system features, functions, operating parameters, and limitations
  • Analyzing supplier technical content and adapting this in the context of customer requirements, system design and development, operating and maintenance environments, and the needs of the operational community
  • Working with engineers and technical SMEs to produce required outputs related to operation and maintenance tasks
  • Tracking system problem reports and working with SMEs to disposition those that have an impact on end user documentation
  • Validating technical content, coordinating reviews, and dispositioning feedback
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g. product management, engineering, customer support, etc.) and the customer
  • Reviewing requirements in various requirements tools and turn into actional tasks
  • Other tasks as assigned

Applicants will need to possess the following experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Technical/Professional Writing, or related field, or equivalent associated experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the development and delivery of operations or maintenance documentation for complex systems or complex information technology products
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical data into concise end user publications
  • Knowledge of technical documentation development processes
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Familiarity with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Arbortext Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar (desirable)
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline engineering team environment (desirable)
  • Experience working with Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO) (desirable)
  • Experience working with aircraft avionic systems (desirable)
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

The hiring range for this position is $68,000 - $88,000 CAD annual. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
