Business Controller, Platforms and Ecosystem Controllership

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. In this role, you will be a key player on both the global Platforms and Ecosystems (P&E) Business Controllership and APAC Finance/Controllership teams. You will partner closely with the business and a number of cross-functional teams extending beyond Finance organization both regionally and globally (e.g., Product, Global Partnerships, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Operations etc.) to support one of the fastest growing and dynamic businesses in Google.

As a member of this team, you will know your accounting principles and the full financial processes end-to-end. Every day is a new challenge, and you will be continually looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible. You will move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you will tap into your problem-solving skills to support Google's business objectives.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, controllership, or a related function.
  • Experience in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or other professional accounting accreditation.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to adapt to data queries (i.e. SQL), reporting, presentation and visualization.
  • Understanding accounting principles with the ability to autonomously prioritize and manage a varied workflow to deliver quality results in a demanding, change-oriented and fast-paced environment..
  • Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams, influence others and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
  • Excellent problem solving, impeccable business judgment skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management.
