About the Role

As a member of the Controllership Shared Services Center (SSC) team, the Analyst, Revenue Recognition will partner with Sales, Legal, Sales Operations, and Pricing teams, serve as a trusted advisor during customer contract negotiations, and perform contract review for revenue recognition compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and collaborates effectively across multiple functions within the business and the finance organization. A successful applicant will have a strong working understanding of ASC 606 with experience applying the standard to a SaaS business model in the tech industry. The candidate demonstrates strength in managing a wide range of issues and business models that may arise from acquisitions, revenue recognition requirements, and strategic shifts in go-to-market strategies.

The position is based in Mexico City and will provide support globally alongside the India SSC team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales, Sales Operations, Pricing, and Legal during contract negotiations to provide guidance and ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Manage daily queue operations including quote approvals and contract modification cases
  • Work with the global Revenue Recognition team and respective business partners to develop and maintain SOX Compliance
  • Engage with external auditors and respond to changes in the audit approach
  • Establish standard contract structures for both existing and new products, and work cross-functionally to maintain a scalable quote-to-cash process
  • Lead training on revenue recognition rules, policies, and practices within the company, and in particular within the Sales organization
  • Stay current on industry trends and maintain up-to-date technical accounting knowledge
  • Maintain documentation for all review and compliance work completed
  • Deliver a high standard of service across departments and regions
  • Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables (e.g., journal entries, analytics, and reporting)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g., work experience, volunteer roles, community leadership, or other relevant background)
  • 3+ years of relevant revenue recognition experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Project management skills including planning, task coordination, status tracking, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Primary audit and ASC 606 experience in the SaaS, software, or tech industry
  • A blend of public accounting and industry experience
  • Experience in SOX control documentation and execution
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with virtual, global, and cross-functional teams, with a genuine commitment to diverse perspectives and inclusive teamwork
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, growing environment where priorities may shift
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, engage in constructive dialogue on complex issues, and present confidently to varied audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities effectively
  • Ability to quickly understand company operations and key business drivers
  • Proficiency in MS Excel highly desirable
  • Experience with Salesforce, Zuora RevPro, Workday Financials, Tableau, and Slack highly desirable

This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office.
