Job Description
Team Summary
Global Controllership establishes Visa’s global accounting policies, provides technical accounting guidance, operates end-to-end accounting and close processes, and consolidates financial results across all Visa entities. The team ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Visa Inc.’s financial statements under U.S. GAAP and local statutory reporting under IFRS.
What a Finance Manager does at Visa:
- This role is designed for a hands-on accounting leader with an engineering mindset — someone who combines deep technical accounting expertise with the ability to build automation, leverage data, and apply AI to modernize finance operations.
- You will own accounting outcomes and actively design scalable solutions that reduce manual effort, detect anomalies, and strengthen controls through intelligent automation
- Own end-to-end accounting and controllership responsibilities for Visa entities in the Asia Pacific region, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial results in compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SEC, and SOX requirements
- Lead the month-end close, balance sheet and P&L flux analysis, and statutory reporting process, partnering closely with auditors through filing and completion
- Act as a finance engineer by designing, building, and scaling automation solutions across close, reconciliations, flux analysis, controls testing, and reporting
- Apply data, analytics, and GenAI techniques to identify anomalies, pattern breaks, and risks in financial results — proactively surfacing issues rather than reacting to them
- Translate accounting requirements into structured logic, data models, and automated workflows that increase consistency and reduce dependency on manual processes
- Partner with Business, FP&A, Operations Support, and Technology teams to embed accounting compliance into upstream processes and system design
- Continuously challenge the status quo by simplifying processes, eliminating low-value work, and improving control effectiveness without adding friction
- Lead or contribute to finance transformation initiatives, pilots, and proofs-of-concept that demonstrate measurable productivity and quality improvements
Why this is important to Visa
This role plays a critical part in ensuring trusted financial reporting at scale while helping Global Controllership evolve from transaction processing to intelligent, data-driven finance operations. The Finance Manager will act as a change agent, balancing rigorous accounting discipline with building innovation solutions — driving efficiency, strengthening controls, and enabling faster, higher-quality decision-making across the region.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
