Senior Mechanical Engineer, Debug

The Debug Project is a team of scientists and engineers dedicated to developing solutions for mosquito-borne disease control. We are developing technology to raise and release sterile mosquitoes.

In this role, you will join a team of mosquito biologists, software engineers, and automation experts working to develop better ways to reduce the impact of mosquito-borne diseases. You will be responsible for research and development across various processes and products. You will be central to the design, development, deployment, and ongoing improvements of Debug technology and products.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
  • 5 years of experience using CAD tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with leading technical initiatives from concept to full scale.
  • Experience with leading or mentoring junior engineers and technicians in a changing environment.
  • Experience in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams, with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of robotics/automated systems, industrial pneumatics and sensors, biotech equipment and applicable standards.
