Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Data Display and Controls (DDC) Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL reporting to our Strike Mission Systems IPT supporting Data Displays and Controls.
The Data Display and Controls (DDC) Electronics Engineer selected is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate/communicate effectively with leadership, customer, suppliers, engineers, and technicians.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Write/draft, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.
Author design guidelines, complete technical analyses and write reports.
Present material during design reviews to internal and external customers.
Integrate LRUs in the Lab to include finding and fixing PARs.
Run test, demonstrations, and analysis in the lab environment.
Lead a subcontracts management team for Requirements sell off and CVID sell off.
Drive technical changes through review boards to include risk, issues, and opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
Electronics Engineer - Networking: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience
Experience with design, development, and integration of flight deck equipment
Experience in COTS / MIL-COTS hardware functional design and performance analysis
Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
Experience with Military Navigation and Navigation Aids
Experience with integrating Military Navigation instrumentation on aircraft and interfacing with mission software
Integration and/or Design experience with one or more of the following avionics systems as applied to military aircraft: Flight Management Systems (FMS), Primary Flight Displays (PFDs), Control Display Units (CDUs), Terrain Avoidance and Warning, Systems (TAWS), Crew Alerting System (CAS), Moving Maps, Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) Navigation Systems
Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) experience
Performance Based Navigation (PBN) experience and attaining PBN certification
Experience designing RTCA DO-178 software standard
Experience designing RTCA DO-254 hardware standard
Experience designing to RTCA DO-200 standard
Experience designing RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429 and Ethernet communication protocols
Experience leading/guiding teams through product definition and implementation
Experience communicating with and presenting to senior leadership
Experience collaborating on large interdisciplinary teams
Experience in supplier/subcontract management
Experience in the development of real-time embedded software
Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
