Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital is the region’s premier referral center for Upstate South Carolina. Located in Greenville, the hospital is home to a 24-hour Level I Trauma Center, the Upstate’s sole pediatric trauma center and the region’s only solid organ transplant center.
Essential Functions

Performs detailed physical assessment, establishes a plan of care and performs advanced critical care stabilization for patients being transported following designated protocols and procedures as approved by the Program’s Medical Control Physicians and SC DPH Division of EMS.
Exhibits effective and intentional communication, ensuring professional bedside interactions with patients and families, referring physicians, outlying facilities, and EMS support personnel.
Provides maintenance and follow-up for equipment and supply needs to ensure system readiness. Adheres to infection control and quality initiatives. Performs appropriate cleaning/disinfection and sterilization of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status.
Collects data to assist in regulatory compliance, quality improvement and patient satisfaction issues.
Initiates various specialty skills to include, but not limited to endotracheal intubation, blood gas sampling from capillary, venous, and arterial sites, umbilical venous insertion, and needle decompression.
Ability to perform duties on all transport modalities including rotor-wing, fixed-wing, or ground ambulance.
Provides a complete and accurate report to Medical Control. Makes recommendations to medical directors during transport as appropriate. Accurately and completely documents patient care via electronic software.
Demonstrates responsible stewardship of organizational resources, including supplies, time, and productivity, and performing other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Associate degree Nursing
Experience- Three (3) years inpatient and/or ED nursing experience with at least two (2) years of Level III NICU and PICU experience.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
A valid driver’s license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart.
BLS - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
ACLS - ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required within 90 days of hire
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required within 90 days of hire
STABLE
NREMT licensure required within one (1) year of hire
ENPC within one (1) year of hire
Advanced specialty certification within two (2) years of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and experience on small baby and/or delivery teams within NICU, ECMO team(s), PICC team, etc. preferred.
