Success in this role will be reflected through the shaping of healthcare in cardiovascular diseases and diabetes,
which will be achieved through: -
• Industry leading creation and delivery on medical elements of brand plans;
• Partnering with HCPs through peer to peer interactions to achieve common objectives;
• Creation of a dynamic team culture that empowers individuals as brand team members to deliver business priorities by co-operating transversally through integrated brand planning and medical project teams.
• Development and maintenance of excellent relationships with key internal business partners and external
health authorities, medical stakeholders, and relevant bodies and patient organizations to drive patient outcomes and commercial goals.
• The broad range of Sanofi programs and promotional activities being undertaken in the spirit of organization policies and Taiwan medicines code of practice.
Main responsibilities:
Leadership
• In line with the markets’ and company’s strategic objectives, develop and execute the annual medical action
plan including the planning and execution of clinical and epidemiological studies as appropriate.
• Participate and represent the company, in local Medical Meetings / Symposium and International Congresses with expositions and presentations
• Drive publications to build and enhance evidence to support brand objectives and strategies
• Establish and maintain a strong regional and global medical network to influence strategies and facilitate
delivery of operational goals.
• Embed best practice Integrated Brand Planning to ensure optimal collaboration with key internal stake holders
to support delivery of agreed business priorities and operational excellence.
• Hire, develop and coach direct reports for performance to achieve business priorities.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive patient outcomesand commercial goals.
• Monitor environment and policies to identify potential future changes and ensure readiness to manage any impact to business together with other appropriate business partners.
• Actively participate in industry/agency groups to ensure Sanofi’s position is clearly represented to drive an optimal environment for the care and management of patients.
Integrated Brand Planning
• In partnership with the commercial teams, ensure common understanding of the integrated brand planning process and role expectations.
• Define and get alignment on the expectations and KPIs for medical elements of brand plans.
• Through coaching, mentoring and support of medical project teams, ensure high quality deliverables are realized in the delivery of committed brand activities.
Stakeholder Management and Partnership
• Ensure a process for stakeholder mapping and management that is aligned with brand priorities is in place and
lead team to achieve results through this process.
• Manage the health support service team of diabetes nurse educators, ensuring that the team has clear KPIs
• Identify and manage key external relationships and establish partnerships to realize win-win outcomes for the
care and management of patients, shaping the environment and policies as required.
• Identify and maintain key internal relationships with regional and global medical teams to inform and support
activities being undertaken by the Taiwan & Hong Kong affiliates.
Medical Knowledge and Communications
• Train and / or oversee the sales and marketing teams to achieve and maintain a high level of relevant disease
area and product knowledge.
• Actively participate in the creation and approval of promotional material to support key brand communication.
• Lead the development of quality medical education activities that are aligned to brand strategies.
• Keep abreast of all new developments within the Sanofi portfolio of products and relevant therapeutic areas.
Ethics and Compliance
• At all times ensure consistency with voluntary and compulsory codes of conduct, appropriate legislation and
compliance with internal SOPs.
• Promote awareness, understanding and alignment of activities to our compliance standards.
• Coordinate the development and review of medical affairs SOPs and guidelines as appropriate
• Ensure the Sanofi business is conducted fully meeting ethics and compliance requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Sanofi employee must understand of own roles and responsibilities in avoiding health risk (Health), preventing
accidents (Safety) and environment protection (Environment). Involved in any such activities must comply with HSE policy
About you
Education
• Medical, Pharmacy, or PhD Degree
Experience & Knowledge
• At least 5 years professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• 1-3 years in leadership roles with demonstrated experience in medical affairs preferred
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Exemplary customer facing skills, and the capability to collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders on
publications and presentations, in a credible, responsive and customer focused manner is a necessity
• Experience in cardiovascular and/ or diabetes preferred
• Fluent Mandarin is required.
