We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our European Legal team, with a primary focus on the CEE Region. This individual will co-lead a dynamic legal team covering a broad and complex portfolio of regulatory and commercial topics, including marketplace seller matters, product compliance, customs law, payment regulation, and warehouse and logistics agreements. The role requires someone who combines deep legal expertise with strong business acumen, the ability to lead and develop a team, and the drive to build scalable legal frameworks in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of lawyers across Europe, fostering a high-performance and solutions-oriented culture.

  • Oversee all legal matters for marketplace sellers, including contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and sanctions management.

  • Advise on EU product compliance, covering safety standards, labeling, packaging waste, and ecodesign requirements.

  • Provide guidance on cross-border trade, including the EU–Turkey Customs Union, import duties, and IOSS/OSS schemes.

  • Manage payment regulation compliance and lead contract negotiations with Payment Service Provider (PSP) partners.

  • Draft and manage logistics agreements, including warehouse, supplier, and last-mile carrier contracts and liability.

  • Translate EU regulatory developments into actionable guidance for internal Operations, Finance, and Product teams.

  • Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies, specifically within the Romanian and Greek markets.

  • Expected Qualifications

  • Law degree from a recognized institution; bar admission is considered a strong advantage.

  • Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with a track record in at least two core areas of the responsibilities listed.

  • Proven experience in a legal team lead or people management role, with a focus on mentoring junior lawyers.

  • Deep knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks applicable to e-commerce, marketplaces, and international trade.

  • Familiarity with the legal environments of Romania, Greece, and Bulgaria, alongside broader EU developments.

  • Expert ability to negotiate complex, multi-party commercial contracts within international corporate structures.

  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, capable of proposing practical, business-enabling risk solutions.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Romanian or Greek is a significant plus.
