The Project Engineer is responsible for automation DCS project deliveries (incl. technical implementation) ensuring timeliness, cost efficiency and meeting our customer expectations. On this position, you will work with our customers from Pulp, Paper, Energy, Process businesses.
Main job duties and responsibilities
- Participate in project planning including overall schedule, risks & opportunities analysis, and change management, according to Valmet project execution model and customer contracts
- To be the main link between DCS project team, ensuring timely communication and latest information shared for all stakeholders.
- Being responsible for project technical standards, solutions, and project documentation
- Being responsible for project quality milestones review and required quality assurance documentation
- Design, configuration, and commissioning of automation systems
- Performing and supervising Valmet DCS engineering incl. data communication links & HW&SW definitions.
- Preparing, performing, and supervising IO & functional tests (cold & hot) incl. troubleshooting
- Customer acceptance tests (iFAT / cFAT / SAT) for DCS projects
- Participating in project feedback meetings with project team and relevant stakeholders (Sales, PG)
- Providing or supervising training for customers operations and maintenance personnel
- Supporting Sales department with analysis of customer requirements and existing constraints
- Maintaining excellent communication with project team (incl. Project Manager, Coordinator, etc.) and other stakeholders
Position requirements
- M.Sc. degree Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- Minimum relevant experience: 2 years
- Knowledge of automation systems architectures (DCS / SCADA / PLC)
- Knowledge and practical experience with automation programming languages
- Knowledge of network structures, topologies, and industrial protocols – Profibus / Profinet / Modbus / OPC UA / OPC DA / IEC / Ethernet IP
- Process knowhow (Pulp/paper/energy Process) will be considered as a strength.
- Fluent English (both written and oral) is mandatory
- Willingness to business travels (up to 50% of working time)
