Summary of Job Duties:
The Pharmacy Technician I works under the supervision of the pharmacist and assists with the preparation, delivery, and shipping of medication. Performs tasks within regulations set forth by state, federal and accreditation bodies. The technician will provide excellent pharmacy services.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Arkansas Pharmacy Technician License or eligible for licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree
1 year of pharmacy technician experience
PTCB National Certification
ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician training or certificate program (i.e., Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician)

Responsibilities:
Prioritizes the order of filling (waiting, pickup, same-day shipment, next-day shipment) to meet patient needs and ensure patient satisfaction.
Labels all prescription bottles accurately and with pharmaceutical elegance and applies all appropriate auxiliary labels.
Ensures appropriate paperwork is included with each prescription fill.
Accurately fills orders to meet and improve metrics surrounding errors while processing prescriptions.
Documents appropriate information during the filling process to meet UAMS Policies and Procedures and URAC and ACHC Accreditation Standards.
Understands and follows all UAMS Policies related to medication processing and filling, including adherence to HIPAA laws.
Demonstrates understanding and proper handling of Hazardous Drugs. Communicates with Specialty Pharmacy staff to ensure seamless pharmaceutical care for Specialty patients.
Maintains cleaning logs for supplies used in Specialty Pharmacy Operations.
Displays courtesy and respect toward all patients and employees.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
Strives to provide excellent pharmacy services.

Assures medication supply is sufficient for needs and alerts the buyer to any deficiencies.
Proactively addresses supply to ensure availability for next-day shipping. Completes regularly scheduled inventory counts and reviews (including but not limited to: cycle counts, annual inventory, out-of-date stock review).
Manages and updates inventory procedures, ensuring all responsible parties complete assigned inventory tasks.
