As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

Within Global Partnerships, the Top Partner team comprises industry experts who engage with external partners and internal teams. As a Top Partner Manager on this team, you will be cultivating relationships with peers across Google, leveraging your influencing and relationship-building skills to drive proactive agreement-making and holistic partnership strategies. You will manage Google’s most strategic partners across the Retail and Commerce sectors. You will also develop cross-Google strategies for these partners and engage externally to manage partner-facing pursuits across Google.

In this role, you will immerse yourself in holistic partner strategies to glean insights on macro industry trends, identify transformational opportunities, and interact externally with key partners and industry bodies. As a thought leader, you will challenge, advise, and support our business and product teams to optimize Google's engagements with these partners. Your ability to solve ambiguous problems, apply sound business judgment, and communicate complex issues effectively, combined with the market and partner-specific expertise you will build, will enable you to lead this team to form and deliver insightful perspectives on Google's partnership strategies.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$204,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
  • Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing relationships with enterprise organizations and leading complex, multi-stakeholder agreements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional strategic projects (e.g., strategic plan, new product launch) from inception to deployment.
  • Experience influencing leaders and presenting to executives.
  • Ability to succeed in fast-paced environments and create structure within ambiguity.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a large, matrixed organization and build trusted, productive relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, influencing, and project/program management skills.
