Job Description Summary

Reporting directly to the Vice-President, Sales, this position oversees a team of Sales Representatives, Service Leaders, and various office and customer service employees.
The Branch Manager is responsible for the branch growth and profitability through the development of sales, maintenance of margins and the efficient operations of the branch.

Job Description

Expand sales and market presence by

  • Monitoring and responding to customer, market and competitor activity
  • Developing plans and strategies for growing market share and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Implementing infrastructure and systems to support the success of the branch
  • Working with marketing to establish successful channel and partner programs
  • Drive continued growth of Medline House Brand products
  • Developing and managing the promotion of the Medline Brand through events such as Tradeshows, Seminars or other events
  • Grow relationships with Industry Business Partners
  • Continue to Build relationships with the existing Schools (U of A Dentistry, NAIT, etc.)
  • Building relationships and collaborating with Manufacturers to support sales development Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company

Communicate sales, customer and market information by:

  • Ensuring sales reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the organization
  • Providing detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Staying current on new products and market trends
  • Sharing knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs

Manage the quality of the customer experience by:

  • Coaching staff through difficult customer situations
  • Acting as an escalation point for difficult customer situations
  • Addressing customer satisfaction issues promptly
  • Managing key customer relationships and participating in closing strategic sales opportunities
  • Coordinating work between and through departments within the Branch and at Head Office

Develop the branch team by:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, promoting and appraising employees
  • Managing, coaching, disciplining and supervising employees
  • Approving time off requests
  • Providing day  to day supervision and leadership to the team
  • Defining and coordinating sales programs that enable consultants to achieve their potential and develops and reinforces critical sales competencies to support company sales objectives
  • Maintaining personal professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Addressing employee satisfaction issues promptly

Managing costs through

  • Locating areas of improvement and proposing corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
  • Reviewing and approving expenses
  • Managing local contracts
  • Managing branch costs and allocating funds appropriately
  • Managing gross profit margins
  • Providing guidance in preparing quotations and establishing rebates

Managing Risk by

  • Ensuring legislative compliance
  • Ensuring adequate protection for customer property
  • Implementing corporate policies
  • Planning and controlling change
  • Providing a safe work environment through the delivery of training to employees, identifying and resolving unsafe situations and managing the reporting of injuries.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and experience

  • Formal post-secondary education or similar work experience
  • At least 7 years’ experience in comparable industries with five years in a leadership position managing people and at least 3 years with branch management experience
  • Proven sales skills
  • Experience in working in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Able to use Microsoft office products

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$132,800.00 - $199,200.00 Annual
