As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also developing a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation and for your career.

The Role:

Northrop Grumman Australia’s Future Business team is responsible for identifying, shaping and progressing the next generation of opportunities across the business.

The team works at the front end of the lifecycle, well before formal Defence requirements, tenders or funding approvals exist, to understand emerging capability needs, engage with stakeholders, and develop concepts that can be progressed into future programs.

This includes:

  • Analysing capability, operational and market signals
  • Engaging with Defence, industry and internal stakeholders
  • Shaping early‑stage ideas into credible opportunities aligned to NGA’s long‑term strategy

Within that context, this role focuses specifically on the air domain.

The Business Development and Capture Manager is a strategic position focused on shaping where NGA invests in air sustainment and modernisation over the next decade and beyond.

This role is built around operator credibility. It requires someone who has worked on the operational side of aircraft and can engage capability leaders and operators as a peer.

NB: This role requires Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain or currently hold Baseline clearance as a minimum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate operational need into credible, fundable opportunities
  • Work with engineering and sustainment teams to develop executable solutions

About You

You are ex‑RAAF or ADF, with direct aircrew or operational experience on aircraft. This is non‑negotiable.

You bring:

  • Credibility to engage capability leaders and operators at an operational level
  • A practical understanding of how aircraft are used, constrained, and sustained
  • Insight into how Defence decisions are made and how funding is prioritised
  • The ability to balance operator need with engineering and commercial reality

You are comfortable operating without clear direction and can turn early ideas into opportunities that stand up under scrutiny.
