Senior Manager, Business Development – Samsung Wallet

Samsung Wallet is a mobile payment service and digital wallet developed by Samsung. It is designed to be a one-stop shop for all debit cards, credit cards, digital passes, and tickets, making them easy to access and use when necessary. With the rise of NFC payment terminals in stores and evolving consumer preferences over the past year, Samsung Wallet has never been more important.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Business Development responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of Samsung Wallet. This role will lead the development of key non-payment partnerships (including membership programs and airline ticketing) as well as payment partnerships (issuers, payment, fintech)—that increases customer engagement, retention, and monetization of Samsung Wallet.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, analytical, data-driven, and solutions-focused with the ability to unravel complexity, navigate the organization, and quickly develop a deep understanding of the business.

The position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to drive close collaboration across all areas of the business. The Senior Manager of Business Development must be a self-starter and comfortable working under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

•        Direct and drive business development and go-to-market efforts for Samsung Wallet across non-payment partnerships (membership, airline ticketing) and payment partnerships

•        Manage portfolio of existing partnerships to drive mutually aligned goals for both Samsung Wallet and partnership success

•        Negotiate and execute partnership agreements involving commercial terms, data usage, and product requirements

•        Drive creation of business models with cross functional teams to ensure alignment on ROI and roadmap

•        Partner with product and other cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule while ensuring quality and performance

•        Coordinate go-to-market plans with marketing, analytics and legal

•        Drive presentations to senior executives regarding partnership performance

Required Qualifications

•        BA/BS required in Business, Computer Science, or a related field

•        At least five years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or equivalent experience

•        Experience within mobile apps, membership, fintech, or digital wallet industries

•        Experience managing partnerships and contractual agreements

•        Strong analytical and presentation skills

•        Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

•        Experience working with membership programs, airline ticketing, payment platforms, digital wallets, or consumer financial technology

•        Experience working with partners to drive partner success and comfortable driving partner initiatives across product, legal, finance and other internal stakeholders

•        Ability to negotiate and structure commercial and product integration agreements, understand agreements, and work with legal

•        Familiarity with Samsung ecosystem products and mobile OS design paradigms

•        Experience working within global across organization and navigating cultural ways of working

Skills and Qualifications

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York, NY, is expected to be between $175,000 ~ $210,000 base.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
