Director of Partnerships

Monzo · London

🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️

As Monzo continues to grow, we're building relationships with some of the world’s most recognisable brands to help customers get more from their money, unlock meaningful benefits, and make Monzo an even bigger part of their everyday lives. Our Partnerships team sits at the heart of this opportunity, working across Product, Marketing, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance and Finance to bring customer-first partnerships to life. As Partnerships Director, you'll lead this function through its next stage of growth, shaping strategy, building exceptional partner relationships and helping define how partnerships contribute to Monzo’s long-term success.

🔑You’ll play a key role by...

  • Defining and leading Monzo’s partnerships strategy across subscriptions, rewards and customer propositions, ensuring we partner with the right brands to deliver meaningful customer and commercial value
  • Building and growing strategic relationships with major consumer brands, subscription providers and commercial partners, representing Monzo with credibility and influence at the most senior levels
  • Leading complex commercial negotiations, balancing customer outcomes, commercial performance and operational excellence while working closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk and Finance
  • Using data and insight to evaluate partnership performance, identify opportunities for growth and shape future investment decisions
  • Partnering closely with Product teams to embed partnerships seamlessly into customer journeys, ensuring experiences are simple, transparent and genuinely valuable
  • Leading and developing a high-performing partnerships team, creating the operating model, governance and ways of working needed to scale successfully
  • Influencing senior stakeholders across Monzo to ensure partnerships support our wider growth ambitions, from acquisition and engagement through to retention and subscription value
  • Building scalable frameworks for identifying, launching, managing and optimising partnerships across the consumer business

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have a strong track record of building, scaling and leading strategic partnerships within consumer, technology, fintech, banking or similarly complex industries
  • You have significant experience managing senior relationships with major brands, platforms, merchants or commercial partners
  • You’ve successfully led complex commercial negotiations from strategy and deal structuring through to execution and long-term partner management
  • You’re commercially astute, able to balance customer value, partner value and business outcomes to create sustainable growth
  • You’re highly analytical and comfortable using data to shape strategy, prioritise opportunities and evaluate performance
  • You have experience leading high-performing teams and creating clarity, focus and momentum in fast-moving environments
