Business Development Specialist - Educational Services

The Business Development Specialist, formally titled Client Partnership Specialist, Educational Services, is responsible for engaging with existing clients to support contract renewals, strengthen relationships, and drive client retention. Ideal candidates are motivated by building relationships, achieving goals, and pursuing long-term career growth in sales and business development.

THIS ONSITE POSITION REQUIRES EMPLOYEES TO BE IN THE OFFICE IN SAN DIEGO, CA.

Responsibilities:  

  • Proactively contact clients with upcoming contract expirations through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing clients to support contract renewals and long-term partnerships
  • Educate clients on Aya's Educational & Therapy staffing solutions and available service offerings
  • Identify client needs and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Maintain accurate client records and renewal activity within CRM systems
  • Consistently achieve outbound call, client outreach, and renewal performance goals
  • Follow up with clients throughout the renewal process to ensure timely contract execution
  • Address client questions and concerns while providing exceptional customer service
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support client retention initiatives
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and career growth 
  • Support Business Development initiatives through client outreach, market research, lead generation, and other activities designed to drive client engagement and growth
  • Collaborate with internal Business Development and Account Management teams to support client retention efforts, contract renewals, and overall account success
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal stakeholders regarding renewal timelines, client feedback, opportunities, and potential risks

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree (direct industry experience can be substituted)
  • 1 year of previous sales experience is preferred, not required
  • Motivated by achieving goals, developing new skills, and advancing within a sales organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and client outreach activities
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Eager to learn consultative sales techniques and grow within a performance-driven sales environment
  • Self-motivated with a desire to meet and exceed performance goals
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

Aya’s general sick leave policy is that employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. However, to the extent any provisions of the statement above conflict with any applicable paid sick leave laws, the applicable paid sick leave laws are controlling

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be $31.25 hourly, which equates to $65,000 annually, plus commissions. 

The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
