DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Research Center (CRC) is a newly established 13-bed ambulatory research clinic at HMC that supports cutting-edge clinical trials and investigator-led studies spanning a wide range of specialties.

As a PRN Registered Nurse, you’ll join a mission-driven, interdisciplinary team focused on providing safe, participant-centered care in a dynamic research setting.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform protocol-specific procedures including vital signs, specimen collection, IV placements, blood draws, infusions, and participant monitoring
- Provide nursing assessments and documentation according to GCP and institutional policies
- Support safe administration of study medications, including investigational products, under PI oversight
- Assess and respond to medical events and provide appropriate escalation or triage in alignment with SOPs
- Collaborate with study teams, research coordinators, and other clinical staff to meet patient care needs
- Apply appropriate policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice in performing clinical duties and evaluate own practice in relation to these
- Maintain regulatory and clinical documentation in Epic and other databases such as Oncore
- Act as a clinical research liaison for the unit and assist other units to coordinate clinical research at HMC
- Participate in the Quality Assurance program by identifying areas for investigation; assist in data collection, monitoring, and development and implementation of corrective actions for the unit
- Contribute to the establishment and implementation of goals for the unit through staff meetings and other activities
- Participate in the mobile CRC program across HMC as needed
- May act as a preceptor for new graduates or experienced employees by assessing learning needs, developing, implementing and monitoring the learning plan, and evaluating learner progress
- May develop clinical procedures based on changing technology, new research, and experience with patients in the specialty
- May develop educational or clinical projects for specified patient groups
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active, valid Washington State or Multi-state RN license required by start date
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (ambulatory or research setting strongly preferred)
- BLS certification
