As a Business Data Scientist on the Global Business Organization (GBO) Product Finance team, you won’t just analyze data, you will shape the commercial strategies of global entertainment and digital advertising. Within YouTube+, you will sit at the intersection of our massive Ad and Consumer ecosystems. You will leverage exceptional datasets to drive high-stakes, data-grounded business decisions.

This role is a dynamic sandbox for advanced statistical methodologies, causal inference, and econometrics. You will design, test, and deploy rigorous analytical frameworks that evolve our Global Business Organization’s multi-year priorities, metrics, and long-term strategies, directly influencing how billions of users and creators experience YouTube.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Methodological Innovation: Advocate active experimentation and advanced statistical methodologies to evaluate product performance and enhance consumer and creator experiences.

  • Lead Strategic Problem-Solving: Transform complex datasets into convincing, principled business narratives that present the Finance Point of View.

  • Influence Global Priorities: Own long-term projects that redefine YouTube's global metrics, forecasting models, and organizational strategies, contributing directly to statistical incrementality.

  • Collaborate and Partner: Build cross-functional relationships with product, engineering, finance, and economics leaders, using data storytelling to steer executive decisions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $198000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a relevant PhD degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a relevant PhD degree.
  • Experience with code management concepts (Google3, Cider, Blaze) and to evolve at pace with AI.
