Design Manager, Interaction Design Lead - LEGO® DESiGN

We are in search of a passionate and experienced Interactive Play Design Manager to join our team and help shape the future of interactive play!

Core Responsibilities

In this role as a Design Manager, Interaction Design you bring interactive products to market by designing playful and viable connected experiences. You will drive projects and processes and manage the entire design life cycle from ideation to market launch while ensuring quality deliveries and adherence to milestones. Moreover, you will:

  • Translate design briefs and strategic choices into understandable objectives and actions within own area

  • Lead the design vision and direction, and demonstrate Interaction Design skills to guide internal and external members to achieve project goals

  • Establish strong and effective partnerships with project leadership and across the product development cycle

  • Identify critical risks and roadblocks, provide necessary action plans to solve obstacles hindering project success

  • Take an active role to advocate Interaction Design, and seek opportunities to further teams’ understanding of interactive play, design culture, and LEGO® values

  • Moreover, you’ll act as a leadership role model in a leadership playground, be brave, focused, and curious leading in a creative design environment

Within LEGO Design, the Interaction Design team explores how digital and physical play come together to create meaningful and joyful experiences for children. As an Interaction Design Coach, you will play a key role in strengthening how these experiences are developed by helping teams evaluate, refine, and elevate their interaction design work across multiple projects.

In Interaction Design, we shape how play comes alive. Every decision we make has the potential to spark curiosity, creativity, and joy for kids around the world!

Do you have what it takes?

We’re looking for a design leader who brings a combination of interaction design expertise, systems thinking, and collaborative leadership, including:

  • Professional experience in interaction design, UX, or related disciplines, including experience designing interactive products or experiences combining digital and physical elements.

  • Strong expertise in prototyping, user-centered design, and translating creative concepts into successful interactive play experiences

  • Strong systems thinking and experience developing scalable or systemic design solutions across complex organizational and product ecosystems.

  • Experience leading and mentoring designers within multidisciplinary and agile product development environments.

  • We imagine you could have an educational background in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX, Game Design, Computer Science, Architecture, or another relevant field.

  • Moreover, you are a collaborative and strategic leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Proactive in solving design challenges, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. Passionate about creating playful and emotionally engaging experiences for children and families, with attention to detail and the ability to build alignment across teams and disciplines.
