Execute on technical briefs and plans, paying attention to deliverables, timelines and success factors
Conceptualise customer product usage and embed in product design
Produce concepts for new products that are innovative, commercially feasible and suitable for scaled manufacturing
Design ideation, creation & documentation stages, will need firm DFM understanding
Develop sketches, plans, diagrams and illustrations to communicate design ideas
Collaborate with product stakeholders (product managers, design directors, PSI, Marketing and New product Introduction) to ensure product alignment to lifecycle and strategic goals.
Create and test physical samples or prototypes of product designs
Evaluate and present design concepts costs and commercials
Evaluate feasibility of products based on customer/consumer needs, function, appearance and safety features
Present design mockups and prototypes to clients for evaluation and approval
Contribute to Design Guild adding thoughts and applying knowledge into design practice
Contribute to design and development process in all stages from planning to retrospective
Create and manage technical specifications and user guides for production
Mentor junior staff
Deliver product design processes to support product development
Contribute to and uphold DFX ( design for excellence ) principles
Maintain balance between innovation creating and commercial realities of ours and our customer’s businesses
