Product Designer, IRL

Bumble · US NY New York / US TX Austin

At Bumble, we're building the future of how relationships are made. Our portfolio spans relationships of all kinds—from romantic connections on Bumble and Badoo to friendship and community on Bumble For Friends. In-person connection is fundamental to our mission. Real relationships don't form in an in-app chat; they grow when people come together in real life, spend time with one another, discover whether there's a spark, and make plans to do it again.

We're hiring a Product Designer to imagine and build experiences that bring our members together IRL. This is an opportunity to help shape an exciting and evolving area of our product portfolio, designing experiences that make meeting in person feel more natural, joyful, and rewarding. You'll partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and fellow designers to prototype, validate, and ship new features that help millions of members connect beyond the screen. Working across multiple Bumble products, you'll play an important role in bringing this vision to life while demonstrating our values of Curiosity, Excellence, and Respect, and thoughtfully using AI to enhance your design practice while applying human judgment throughout the design process.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end design of new IRL features, from discovery and concept development through launch and continuous iteration.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to understand member needs, business goals, and product strategy, translating insights into intuitive, impactful design solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers throughout implementation to deliver high-quality experiences, balancing technical feasibility with exceptional design craft.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and validate concepts through research, experimentation, and user testing across the Bumble portfolio.
  • Develop the strategic case for your design by synthesising product data, exploratory research, and member insights to shape the future direction of IRL experiences.
  • Collaborate across Bumble's product portfolio and partner with other design teams to integrate IRL experiences while delivering a cohesive, high-quality member journey.
  • Use AI-powered design and prototyping tools to accelerate exploration, improve design workflows, and evaluate concepts while applying responsible human oversight and considering privacy, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate our Bumble values of Curiosity, Excellence, and Respect by collaborating across disciplines, taking ownership of outcomes, and adapting quickly as priorities evolve.
  • About You

  • Typically requires 3+ years of experience, though we welcome candidates with alternative backgrounds that demonstrate equivalent skills.
  • You have experience designing consumer-facing digital products and understand how to create intuitive experiences with broad consumer appeal.
  • You are an end-to-end product designer with strong capabilities across visual design, interaction design, prototyping, and product thinking.
  • You approach problems with first-principles thinking, investing time in understanding user needs before exploring solutions.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrate ownership, and enjoy collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • You communicate design rationale clearly and are comfortable incorporating feedback from diverse stakeholders.
  • You confidently use AI tools to support research synthesis, ideation, content exploration, and prototyping while exercising sound judgment, validating outputs, and using AI responsibly.
  • Experience with design systems, accessibility best practices, experimentation, and evidence-based product design is highly valued.
  • Bonus points if you've contributed directly to production code or partnered closely with engineers to improve implementation quality.
