Technical Lead / Service Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Service Manager to join our CMT practice in Belgium, embedded within a large-scale enterprise billing environment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical delivery and service operations, ensuring that billing platforms are architected for reliability, governed effectively, and continually improved. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to own the end-to-end service lifecycle for critical billing and collections systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery and day-to-day service management of Telco billing platforms, including Fixed, Mobile, and Enterprise billing domains.
  • Act as the primary point of contact (SPOC) and escalation lead for billing-related incidents, service deviations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Define and oversee solution architecture for billing, payment, and collections systems, ensuring alignment with functional, non-functional, and regulatory requirements (e.g. e-invoicing standards such as Peppol).
  • Drive Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), monitor billing KPIs, and produce executive-level dashboards and reporting.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and IT to identify and implement process automation and optimization opportunities.
  • Manage system integration across billing presentment channels (digital and physical), middleware, and third-party platforms.
  • Support and govern architecture review boards, technical design sessions, and delivery governance forums.
  • Oversee compliance activities and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge management within the practice.

Required Profile

  • 8–12 years of experience in enterprise IT, with significant exposure to Telco billing, payments, or collections domains.
  • Proven track record as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Service Manager in a large enterprise or consulting environment.
  • Hands-on experience with billing platforms, billing presentment (multi-channel), and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, API design, data flows, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure); AWS certification is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace, Splunk).
  • Solid grasp of ITIL-aligned service management practices; formal ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills — ability to translate technical topics for business audiences.
  • Knowledge of Belgian or European regulatory requirements (e.g. e-invoicing, Peppol) is a distinct advantage.
  • Proficiency in English (professional); French and/or Dutch is an asset.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to SAP Billing, Salesforce or field service automation tooling.
  • Understanding of AI-assisted workflows and automation in enterprise environments.
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
  • Prior experience in a Telco client-side or consulting engagement in Belgium or other European country
