Job Description:
As part of Airbus’s ambition to grow a proficient and competitive Engineering organisation, we are launching a Commercial Aircraft Engineering Centre in Poland. This initiative aims to leverage Poland’s talent pool and technological ecosystem, specifically in the field of Propulsion systems and overall structure analysis, while supporting our broader Engineering workload and competitiveness requirements, and reinforcing Airbus’ strategic engagement with Poland.
You will join the Design Office in charge of the design, integration, and support to our major structural components (eg. pylons and engine mounts, fuselage, wing…) for all our commercial and military programs.
The Environment:
Presence in Toulouse Saint-Eloi and Saint-Martin (FR), Filton (UK), Getafe (Spain) and Hamburg (Germany)
You will gain an end-to-end understanding of the product life cycle, from production support to in-service topics, reinforcing the concrete impact of your work.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: close collaboration with numerous partners (aerodynamics and loads, systems, manufacturing, customer services, etc.).
Future Challenges: We are actively involved in defining future components and the decarbonization roadmap. Our mission involves advanced projects and continuous product improvement (recurring cost, weight, ramp-up, operability).
In this frame, the engineering domain needs you to improve and develop our products and our dynamic stress structure community !
As an Experienced F&DT (Fatigue & Damage Tolerance) Stress Engineer, your main mission is to actively participate in F&DT stress activities for major structural components (e.g. pylons and engine mounts, fuselage, wing…) across all serial programs.
Justification and Certification:
Actively contribute to F&DT certification and maintenance activities : calculations, Stress Dossiers, SSR (Section Summary Report), IRD (Inspection Requirement Document), etc…
Justify design modifications.
Sign concessions in support of production.
Technical Expertise & Support:
Support the team with damage correlation for full-scale fatigue tests, mitigation on complex F&DT calculations.
Participate on airworthiness subjects through OCC and, if necessary, present subjects to certification authorities.
Support continuous product improvement.
Community and Knowledge Capitalization:
Be an integral part of the F&DT community within the design office.
Be accountable for capitalization of knowledge within your perimeter.
Be part of the up-skilling of F&DT community
Ensure adherence to processes and contribute to their continuous improvement (feedback based on activity).
Develop your signatures rights (DOA / Design Organisation Approval)
F&DT certification stress dossiers.
Modification Structural Justification.
Stress Summary Report
Production support (concessions).
Capitalization cards and transformation subjects.
OCC support.
Workload estimation / Budget plan (support).
Master's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Experience within an aeronautical structure environment would be a plus.
Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (EASA, FAA) and certification processes would be a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team environment.
Fluency in English is required
Knowledge of tools such as Nastran, Hypermesh, ISAMI, Abaqus would be a significant advantage.
