Principal Software Engineer, AWS Training and Certification Tech Services (TCTS)
As a Principal Engineer in AWS T&C organization, you'll be the technical leader for our Learning Experiences and AI capabilities — the learner-facing layer where every customer interaction happens. You'll own the end-to-end architecture for our AI-powered learning assistant, govern multiple production learning surfaces serving millions of active users, and drive the convergence of our learning experience portfolio into a unified, AI-augmented platform. You'll set technical strategy across conversational AI, full-stack experience architecture, and cross-service integration — thinking globally about system design while obsessing over the details of the learner experience.
Key job responsibilities

● Define and enforce unified integration standards across multiple learner-facing surfaces including AWS Skill Builder, Classroom Experience, and immersive learning (AWS LABS, AWS JAM, Gamified Learning such as Simulearn and CloudQuest), and other learning modalities (web, mobile, desktop app)
● Govern zero-downtime change processes for customer-facing platforms serving millions of active learners — establishing canary deployment patterns, feature flag architecture, and rollback standards
● Architect AI-augmented experiences for enterprise customers and instructors
● Drive cross-team API contract negotiations and integration patterns across platform, content, and AI/ML services
● Author technical strategy documents and design specifications that set architectural direction for the organization
● Mentor and accelerate senior engineers across teams, raising the technical bar across the portfolio
● Drive the convergence of learning surfaces into a modular, unified learner experience layer
