Your Impact 

As a Senior Consulting Engineer, you will lead the strategy, design, and optimization of Cisco's most robust Service Provider engagements. This role is exciting because you'll shape customer hardware and software roadmaps, integrate emerging Automation and AI capabilities into our delivery practice, mentor the next generation of engineers, and build influence across the theatre and beyond — through industry forums, intellectual capital, and strategic customer advisory.

  • Lead solution design, deployment, migration and optimization strategy & execution of robust multi-domain solutions across Service Providers.

  • Review and approve designs and deliverables, including input to customer hardware/software roadmaps, embedding Resilience and Security by Design.

  • Integrate AI and automation into delivery practices; manage the team's knowledge repository, and playbooks.

  • Act as the senior escalation point for the most complex technical issues; build advanced customer simulations and lead resolution across vendors and partners.

  • Mentor junior Consulting Engineers, build leadership presence through industry events (e.g., Cisco Live, IETF), and use competitive insights to differentiate Cisco solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires BS/BE/BTech degree or equivalent with 8+ years of experience in a similar job role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and Cisco customers

  • Service Provider related certification (CCNP/CCIE) is helpful and you have a drive for continuous learning.

  • Proficiency of L2 / L3 networking protocols and technologies (IPv6, STP/RSTP, EVPN, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, QoS, Multicast).

  • Knowledge of Unified MPLS Architecture

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience on Cisco NCS540, NCS560, ASR9k NCS55xx, 8k and 3rd party high end routing and switching platforms.

  • Proficiency of overlay technologies L2VPN and L3VPN.

  • Has Advanced knowledge and hands-on of Cisco SDN based technologies such as SR-MPLS or SRv6.

  • Leverages AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency, innovation and customer outcomes, while also increasing personal productivity and focus on high-impact work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of leading multi-million-dollar engagements and complex transformation programs.

  • Understanding of relevant Cisco technologies and delivery methods and builds skills in articulating technical concepts.

  • Foundational consulting and collaboration skills 

  • Knowledge of software programmability, automation (Python, YAML, JSON, GitHub, Ansible, Terraform and so on), orchestration, and/or virtualization technologies
