Director Table Games

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Director of Table Games is responsible for directing the department’s operations through strategic planning and successful implementations of goals, objectives, and policies in accordance with company objectives and gaming regulations for Dreamscape’s Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This includes leading a large team to deliver excellent customer service, offering while ensuring compliance and practices are followed.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with executive management to plan the operational goals, budgets and game placement strategies to support revenue growth and increased profit margins.

  • Closely partner with leaders in slot operations, casino marketing, F&B, hotel and guest services to ensure property offerings and goals align and compliment the property’s overall financial and KPI goals.

  • Partners with Security and Surveillance to ensure game protection and safety for team members and guests.

  • Exemplify strong customer service skills and hold team accountable for delivering on the guest service strategy of the property.

  • Regularly reviews and evaluates Table Games departmental performance, working through Table Games Shift Managers to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions.

  • Sets priorities for Table Games Shift Mangers and Poker Room Manager, providing guidance and assistance as needed.

  • Approves substantial credit requests and extensions and issues guest comps in accordance with internal procedures.

  • Monitors all financial activities, which relate to the table Games Department to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the Casino, the federal Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the property.

  • Maintains strong working knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and regulations as well as internal controls, policies and procedures.

  • Formulates and administers departmental policies and activities, and develops realistic short and long term goals and objectives for the department in alignment with those of the property.

  • Reviews daily and monthly Table Games reports, financial reports and budgets, providing written explanations for any unusual statistical fluctuations, guest service levels and general table game performance, theoretical versus actual hold win percentages, and drop, etc.

  • Resolve customer concerns and problems when needed.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and quality output.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training supervisory level employees, recommending discharge, planning, assisting, and direction work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Collaborate with Workforce Management and FP&A to properly staff and forecast operational needs.

  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position directly oversees the table games managers and staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum eight (8) years experience in table games management.

  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in a all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Knowledge of core games.

  • Strong Computer proficiency; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable casino and operational software.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required).

  • At least 21 years of age.

PREFERRED

  • Proficient in using customer databases and gaming operations software.

  • Five (5) years experience of leading large teams.

  • Prior casino management experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.

  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 20 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
