Why this Role Matters
The analytical chemist plays a meaningful and supportive role within the Luxembourg Metrology organization helping generate reliable analytical data that enables better decisions in product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Through skilled work across chromatographic, spectroscopic, thermal, and wet chemical techniques, the role helps ensure confidence in results and strengthens the link between laboratory work and broader product innovation. In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, this position contributes to continuous improvement efforts, supports knowledge sharing, and helps maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform analytical testing with care and precision using techniques such as thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman), elemental analysis, and porosity measurements.

  • Prepare and handle samples in line with established methods and safety practices, ensuring a structured and secure laboratory environment.

  • Support the delivery of high-quality results by working carefully with instruments and maintaining consistency in daily laboratory activities.

  • Support the improvement of analytical methods under the guidance of senior colleagues, contributing ideas and incremental enhancements.

  • Take part in maintaining clear and well-structured documentation, helping ensure knowledge is accessible and well preserved within the team.

  • Review data thoughtfully, helping identify irregularities and ensuring results are clearly understood and communicated.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing by supporting structured documentation and good laboratory practices.

  • Assist with calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities to help ensure smooth laboratory operations.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, ensuring open communication and shared understanding of analytical needs and progress.

What You’ll Bring

  • A strong academic background in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Polymer/Materials Science, Physics, or a related field, with 3–5 years of hands-on experience; or a BTS/Associate degree complemented by solid practical experience; or a Master’s degree.

  • Experience working with analytical instruments such as TGA, DSC, FTIR, Raman, combustion-based elemental analysis, and porosity measurements, with openness to expanding skills in GC, HPLC, or GPC techniques.

  • A solid understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory safety, with a careful and responsible approach to following procedures and maintaining quality standards.

  • A thoughtful and detail-oriented mindset, with attention in documenting, reviewing, and sharing results to support clarity and reliability within the team.

  • A collaborative and supportive working style, with a genuine interest in working closely with others and contributing to a positive team environment.

  • A curious and open attitude toward learning, with motivation to grow expertise in analytical techniques and continuously develop professionally.

  • Clear and respectful communication skills in an international environment, with the ability to share information in a constructive and accessible way.
