Role Overview:
KBR is seeking an organized and proactive early-career Systems Engineer to support our U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Land Imaging (NLI) Program customer in Reston, VA. This role is part of the Requirements, Capabilities, and Analysis for Earth Observation (RCA-EO) contract, which is dedicated to gathering the needs of remote sensing scientists, modeling remote sensing capabilities, and producing comprehensive decision-support analyses. These efforts directly inform the National Land Imaging Program’s strategic investments, particularly concerning the Landsat Mission.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated early-career professional to contribute to national-level Earth observation initiatives while building expertise in remote sensing, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

This position operates out of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement with at least 2 days in-office per week.
Rate: $81,900 – $122,800
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.

The RCA-EO contract provides a dynamic opportunity to shape the future of national land imaging and play a pivotal role in supporting the continued success of the Landsat Mission.
