You provide hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by planning and conducting experiments and applying your understanding to analyze results. With guidance, you plan and implement assigned projects.
How you will contribute
You will perform a range of analyses, prepare and maintain standard equipment and chemicals required for running of an analytical laboratory, support laboratory activities while ensuring compliance to the appropriate internal and external standards, and capture and report data with technical rigor and accuracy. To succeed in this role, you will maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment and be proficient in generic and specific software packages.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist in the maintenance of all Compliance, Sanitation and Process Quality Programs and Schedules for the Gladstone facility and support the daily operations to conform to corporate and local Quality Policies and SOPs.

Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Regulatory Affairs or Science.
- 2-years’ experience in a related field
Job specific requirements:
The Lab Quality Lead is responsible for the food safety and quality programs that ensure quality compliance of raw and packaging materials, WIP as well as the environmental and production related monitoring programs such as CTQs and CTPs.
Accountable for the compliance of the following Quality Policies:
Pathogen environmental monitoring (PEM and Non-PEM)
Water programs
Testing controls & Calibration
CoA verification
Finished product pathogen testing
Hold and release (ingredients)
Incoming Receiving of Materials
The Lab Quality Lead manages 1 Quality Specialist- Lab that support the different programs enlisted above.
Request local spec exceptions to fulfill the Quality Policy for OOS raw materials, trials and FPAs.
The position also supports the change management process for formulation recipes and the traceability program, sensory program, Kosher management, Rainforest Alliance among others.
This position owns the Standard Work Process of Supplier Quality that is part of the QM pillar.
Owns the relationship with Suppliers, Lab and other external stakeholder who support Gladstone plant.
Flexibility in scheduling. May be required to support sporadically on weekends and off-hours to connect with the core team and the Quality Specialists.
Support competency training for quality and food safety requirements according to schedule while working with the E&T lead.
Assist in the Change Control program leading the cross functional team approval, creating and revising SOPs/WI/ QPs and updating applicable programs.
Support in the management of non-conforming materials ensuring that they are properly controlled, identified and dispositioned appropriately.
Work safely and diligently to avoid hazards in the workplace and department.
Must be able to prioritize work to be most efficient and effective.
Be able to work independently and proactively to perform duties.
Other tasks may be assigned by the Quality Manager.
Work schedule:
Monday to Friday at the plant .
Salary and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is 84,500 to $105,650 CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 8% with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.Mondelez also offers several generous employee benefits (some subsidized or fully paid for by the company), including health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, and enhanced vacation and holiday entitlements.
