About the Job:
Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a discipline dedicated to enhancing service availability, observability, scalability, performance, and resilience across Morgan Stanley. It achieves this by applying robust software engineering principles and leveraging modern technologies and tooling.
We are expanding SRE capabilities within the Reliability & Production Engineering (RPE) organisation as part of Morgan Stanley's broader technology transformation.
Within Plant Management, the Skyfall Squad is responsible for designing, building, and operating the Institutional Securities Technology multi-tenant Kubernetes environment. Our mission is to deliver a standardised, reliable, efficient, and innovative platform, while partnering with internal customers to ensure they use it effectively to achieve their business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
> Leading a local team working with individuals toward achieving department goals and promoting Firm culture
> Collaborating with stakeholders and partners to onboard applications from Morgan Stanley's distributed systems into a secure, multi-tenant Kubernetes environment.
> Providing Asia-hour platform support while adhering to the highest standards of service management and operational excellence.
> Applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance platform stability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Required skills
> Excellent written and verbal communication skills
> In-depth knowledge of Linux with proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed environments
> Strong problem-solving skills with experience in debugging and root cause analysis
> Hands-on experience in Kubernetes cluster administration and lifecycle management
> Expertise in Kubernetes deployment automation using GitOps workflows with Flux
> Familiar with modern observability practices, including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing
Desired skills:
> Proficient in Kubernetes observability and monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki
> Practical experience in automation using scripting languages such as Python and Linux shell scripting
> RedHat OpenShift
> Knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles and best practices
> Experience working within Agile development methodologies
> Advanced Unix expertise, including kernel internals, file systems, and memory management
