Northrop Grumman Defense Sector has a need for a Software Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Software Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting our AN/ALR-56M/56C Integrated Support Station Engineering Services Program at Robins Air Force Base. You will support upgrades to the AN/ALR-56M and AN/ALR-56C Integrated Support Stations and associated software applications. This candidate will develop, integrate, test, document and deliver software upgrades in support of system integration testing. The candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of difficult problems and drive to a solution while working in a supportive team environment. This position is located in Warner Robins, GA.

 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, modify, maintain, and test embedded software using software engineering best practices and standards

  • Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, application development, modular testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and upgrades

  • Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration problems

  • Frequent opportunities to interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers, therefore excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role.

This position may be filled Software Engineer (T2) or Principal Software Engineer (T3) level.

Basic Qualifications:  

  • For Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university with at least 2 years of systems or software engineering experience OR a master’s degree in one of the above listed majors OR a PhD in one of the above listed majors. Will consider 4+ years of related experience for candidates without a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

  • For Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university with at least 5-years of systems or software engineering experience OR a master’s degree in one of the above listed majors and 3 years related experience OR a PhD in one of the above listed majors.

  • Will consider 4 additional years of related experience for candidates without a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

  • Proficient in C/C++ software development

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Experience with Qt Integrated Development Environment

  • Ability to efficiently operate in a fast-paced team in a customer-driven environment

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret level security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with development in the VxWorks environment

  • Experience developing custom displays and user interfaces

  • Experience with embedded software development, integration and testing

  • Experience developing and deploying software on FPGA platforms with embedded ARM cores

  • Familiarity with containerization applications

  • Familiarity with emulation of embedded processor systems

  • Familiarity with Electronic Warfare (EW) and radar principles

  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools (JIRA, GitLab.)

  • Familiarity with integration of avionics interfaces (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429, etc.)

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
