DESCRIPTION:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific's Biosciences Division (BID) as a Senior R&D Manager and contribute to technology development at a global leader serving science. Within BID, you will help advance innovative solutions across cell analysis, cell culture, molecular biology, protein biology, and related life science research applications that enable scientific discoveries and support customers in academic, biopharma, biotechnology, clinical, and industrial markets.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for complex product development programs, guiding multidisciplinary teams across hardware, software, systems, assay, reagent, and consumables development. You will lead initiatives that align with BID's mission of accelerating research and improving outcomes by delivering differentiated products and technologies that address evolving customer needs.

Working closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Commercial, and global R&D teams, you will drive innovation from concept through commercialization, ensuring robust execution, technical excellence, and business impact. You will support and enable your teams to achieve high performance while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer-centric decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree , or Bachelor's Degree plus 15 years of experience in complex technical product development
• Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related scientific/technical field
• Professional certifications in project management, Six Sigma, or related areas are a plus
• 5+ years of people management experience leading technical teams
• Proven track record delivering innovative products from concept through commercialization
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, IVD, pharmaceuticals)
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and stage-gate processes
• Excellent project and program management capabilities
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders
• Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
• Experience with quality management systems and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency with product development tools, methodologies and best practices
• Strong business acumen and customer focus
• Ability to influence and collaborate across global matrix organizations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
• Experience with agile development methodologies preferred
• Background in relevant technical domains (e.g., instrumentation, software, assays)
